Mondays w/ Mav Weekly Jam Session!
A free community open jam, hosted by Maverick, EVERY MONDAY OF EVERY WEEK! Our Monday night jams are close to our heart, forming the core of what community at Prototype is all about. Maverick kicks off the night with a set and then opens up the stage for a night of improvisational collaboration. If you’ve never been to Prototype, this is a great night to meet us. We have a house drum kit and amps.

The Dust-Ups blend a down-home country sound with punk rock spirit. While they all call New Jersey home, The Dust-Ups’ origins span from New Orleans to Quebec, allowing their lively, catchy brand of Americana/alt-country to resonate as far from regional. The outfit was assembled in 2022 after lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Ryan Chatelain, a veteran of the New Orleans and New York solo-acoustic scenes, laid down roots in the Garden State and put out the call for musicians on Facebook and Craigslist.
Multi-instrumentalist Joe Palmisano answered and expressed a shared fondness of some of Chatelain's biggest influences, including Old 97’s and Uncle Tupelo, and the two then partnered to start what would eventually become known as The Dust-Ups. Shortly after, bassist Stephen Swalsky, formerly of the alt-country bands Coal Palace Kings and Mud, Blood & Beer, and drummer Alek Speck, who toured the world with the indie rock group Run Run Run, completed the lineup.

Separatr is an indie pop duo originally from Bellingham, WA. In 2022, married couple Stephanie Melvin and Joe Douglas sold most of their belongings, got in a van, and headed for the east coast. Now residing in the Asbury Park NJ scene, Separatr is touring in their camper van playing shows all over the Northeast. Their latest album, GIRL EXPLODED is out now under Mint400 Records. The Nitro Blues Band was formed in 2021 as a trio by Patrick Graham Mellor and sibling rhythm section Bella and Tony Grande. A year later adding Armaan Gupta on guitar. Lead by Patrick Graham Mellor they’re producing a heavy and sweaty New Jersey twist on blues, rock and soul music. Inspired by blues like Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Hound Dog Taylor and heavier rockers like Jack White, Rage Against The Machine, The Clash, GA 20, and Link Wray.

Hosted EVERY third Thursday of Every month, we love this night of “first say, first play” sets, picked right from our home-grown community. At the top of each month, we post the Third Thursday graphic to our Instagram page. The first three or four performers to DM for a slot get to play! There is a small guarantee for performers and we pass the hat, so bring all your friends to support the cause!
